Day-by-Day Itinerary
Fes Guided Medina Tour
Your adventure begins the moment we pick you up from the airport or your riad to introduce you to your personal guide. Today, you will uncover the secrets of the ancient walled city. You will wander through the famous Bab Boujloud (Blue Gate), admire the beautiful woodwork at the Nejjarine Fountain, and visit the historic Chouara Tanneries. To end a wonderful first day, we will climb to a hilltop fortress to enjoy the stunning sunset over the rooftops before checking into your cozy riad.
Fes to Merzouga via the Middle Atlas Mountains
We will depart early from Fes and travel south toward Ifrane, known for its alpine charm. Next, we stop in the ancient cedar forests of Azrou to look for the friendly wild monkeys. After a relaxing lunch break in the mountain town of Midelt, we wind down the road into the stunning, palm-filled Ziz Valley oasis. By late afternoon, we will reach the edge of the Sahara in Merzouga. There, we will switch to camels for a peaceful trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes. We will end our evening with an authentic dinner and live drum music at a luxury desert camp.
Exploring the Merzouga Desert Region
Wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the sand dunes. Today, we will discover the secrets of the Sahara. We will visit the village of Khamlia, where you can listen to soul-stirring traditional Gnawa music and meet nomadic families living in traditional tents. You will also have the opportunity to explore local palm groves. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon at a desert lodge, where you can opt for sandboarding or a thrilling 4×4 dune safari.
Merzouga to Dades Valley via Todra Gorge
After breakfast, we will head west toward Erfoud, a town famous around the world for its ancient fossil workshops. Next, we stop at the spectacular Todra Gorge, where you can take a peaceful walk along the riverbed beneath 300-meter-high limestone cliffs. After lunch, we will drive deeper into the Dades Valley to marvel at the famous “Monkey Fingers” rock formations. We will then spend a restful night in a traditional kasbah-style riad.
Dades Valley to Marrakech via Ait Benhaddou
Today, we will follow the legendary Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. We will cross the Skoura Oasis and visit the historic Kasbah Amridil. Then, we will pass through Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Morocco. The highlight of the afternoon will be a walk through Ait Benhaddou, a stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site that has been featured in films such as Gladiator. Finally, we will cross the High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi N’Tichka Pass and arrive in the lively city of Marrakech, where we will spend the night.
Guided Medina Tour in Marrakech
Prepare to immerse yourself in the colors and sounds of the “Red City.” Your local guide will show you the most beautiful historical sites, including the magnificent Bahia Palace, the historic Saadian Tombs, and the tranquil, colorful gardens of the Jardin Majorelle. In the afternoon, explore the bustling souks surrounding the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa Square. There, you can sample delicious street food and watch local acrobats, musicians, and artisans perform.
Marrakech to Rabat via Essaouira and Casablanca

Rabat to Chefchaouen via Meknes and Volubilis
We start the day by viewing Rabat’s iconic Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Then, we journey to the imperial city of Meknes to photograph the massive Bab Mansour Gate. Next, we stop at the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, where we walk among beautifully preserved second-century mosaics. In the late afternoon, we will climb into the Rif Mountains and arrive in Chefchaouen. You will have the evening free to enjoy the calm, blue-walled town.
Chefchaouen Exploration Day
Take a leisurely guided tour through the peaceful medina of Chefchaouen. Your guide will take you through the historic Kasbah Museum and past the Andalusian Mosque. Later, take a short, scenic hike up to the Spanish Mosque viewpoint to take in the incredible panoramic view of the entire blue town. Spend your afternoon at your own pace shopping for unique, hand-woven blankets or sipping mint tea in a hidden café.
Chefchaouen to Tangier Airport
On our last morning, we leave the Rif Mountains behind and head to the northern coast.
